You provide me evidence that he is as good as he states. Otherwise he is not credible. I just read his last post and it sounds like he just throws mud against the wall and hopes some of it sticks. I would ask a female if it matched before I got another male, who is probably as color blind as fred, if he thought it was close enough.
Chris
Well thats the difference between you and me. Assumptions are the reason for major !@#% ups. So I don't. I don't claim to know anything about Fred, only that I have learned a great deal from him. You on the other hand have the swimming pool mentality. You fill a bucket full of water on one end of the pool, take it to the other end, dump it in and then claim there is now more water in the pool.
Did he train you to have an eagle eye so you could butt match panels just like he does with dulux?

To the original poster, if you wanted to have a look at this article I put together a while back it might provide a more detailed look on why the shop needs to blend:
I wouldn't do it any other way (on a customer car anyhow). Even if you were able to obtain a good butt match it may look a mile off under a different light source. Anytime you park your car under a street light the failure to blend can become very apparent.
